Though not without some magical moments, was one of the very few places we were only too happy to check out early from.
When we initially made our booking, 6 months in advance, we advised the owner that we do all our own cleaning, which is standard practice when we travel. However on arrival we were informed (telephonically) that the on-site domestic worker needed to come in daily to make sure it wouldn't take her "10 hours" to clean up after we left. Ok then!
Perhaps they have had bad guests before so it would be understandable if they are distrustful initially - but even after the second day when our guests had left and the domestic had seen how spotless the place was she STILL had to came to check on us every day. We felt it was very unprofessional that she entered through the back door whenever she pleased without warning.
Although this is the only house on the road with electric fencing, (which might make some people feel safer) this was the first time anybody had ever tried to break in at any of the over 40 places we have visited in the last 4 years. Needless to say we did not sleep as peacefully as we usually do when visiting the South Coast.
The real shocker was that although it cost just less than R500 per person per night, no toilet paper is supplied! That really was a first for us. Even the cheapest accommodation we have rented in the last four years has supplied toilet paper. Even if it's just one ply. Most also supply soap, even if it just one of those tiny little bars.
The view is really stunning and we saw lots of whales and dolphins but the lack of usual South Coast hospitality really put a dampener on our stay here.

Rather go to Blue Waters Beach House in Umzumbe - the house is just as lovely, the view just as amazing but with much friendlier hosts.
